Summer School 2013

Dates: June 3 – 28, 2013


Hours: 8:00 am – 11:30 am


Students must be picked up no later than 11:35 am.  Frequent late pick-ups may result in your child/children no longer being able to participate in the program.

General Information:

All students in grades Kindergarten through Eight residing in the Kirksville School District may enroll in the Summer School Program.  Students who are new to the Kirksville School District must enroll at the Admissions Office (1901 E. Hamilton).  The Summer School Program focuses on mathematics, reading and writing for Kindergarten through Eighth grade.  The goal of the program is to help students achieve to their full potential by developing self-extending systems of learning.  Students will learn to become strategic readers and writers.  For more information on the program, contact the building principal (see “Attendance Centers” below).


Transportation:

There is no bus transportation provided for summer school. 


Attendance:

Call the Attendance Office at your child’s school after 7:00 am to report an absence.  No more than two absences are allowed in summer school.  Tardiness of fifteen minutes or more equals an absence.  A third absence will result in the student being dropped from summer school.

Student Conduct:

During the summer, we expect the same behavior as is expected during the school year.


Health:

Medications should be taken at home.
