General Contractors may obtain up to 3 sets; all others may obtain 1 set only, of Bid Documents upon receipt by either the School District or Printer of a refundable deposit by certified check in the amount of $125.00, made payable to Kirksville R-III School District.  NO PARTIAL SETS WILL BE ISSUED.

Upon return of Bidding Documents, bound in the original order, and without extraneous markings, deposits will be returned to bidders for a period of 14 days after the receipt of bids.  Thereafter, deposits will be retained.

Bidders will be required to provide Bid Security in the form of a Cashier’s or Certified Check or Bid Bond in an amount equal to 5% of the total amount of the Bid.

Submit Bid Sums on the Bid Form bound in the Project Manual. 

Bid is submitted under a condition of irrevocability for a period of 60 days after submission. 

It is the statutory policy of the State of Missouri "that a wage of no less than the prevailing hourly rate of wages for work of a similar character in the locality in which the work is performed, shall be paid to all workers employed by or on behalf of any public body engaged in public works exclusive of maintenance work," Chapter 290 RSMo 1986, 1987, and Cum. Supp. 1993.  Prevailing wages have been established for Adair County.

Bidders may be requested to submit a confidential financial statement for review by the Owner and Architect, and/or attend an interview with the Owner and Architect prior to the issuance of Notice of Contract Award.  Interviews shall be attended by Bidder and requested prime Sub-bidders, upon schedule notification by the Architect.

The Board of Education, Kirksville R-III School District reserves the right to accept or reject any or all offers and to waive any technicalities therein.
