About Parents as Teachers Parents as Teachers serves children birth to kindergarten entry. We visit families with children birth to three years of age five times and families with children three years of age to kindergarten three times. Each parents educator does a developmental screening with each child and introduces the family to various community resources. Parents are also invited to parents meetings about early childhood topics such as discipline, literacy, music, nutrition, etc. Some meetings are for patents and others involve activities with their children.
