High School Band Marching band and concert band are composed of 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students. Grades weigh heavily upon attendance at all rehearsals and all public performances.
Jazz Band This class is designed for advanced musicians stressing jazz music performance. Auditions will be required. The jazz band plays at selected home basketball games and community events. (Student must be concurrently a member of Band.)
Drumline Any student enrolled in band is eligible to audition for drumline. This group will compete each fall and will perform throughout the year.
Color Guard Any student enrolled in band is eligible to audition for color guard. This group will compete each fall and will perform throughout the year.
8th Grade Band The 8th grade band is a performing group of the instrumental music program. During the year, the band concentrates on concert band music. The music played will vary during the year. Many numbers from various periods will be played by the band. Students will continue the fundamentals of musicianship in order to develop more advanced instrumentals. During the fall, the band practices marching and often appears at the high school, and college parades. If time permits, they play at high school half-time with the high school band. 7th Grade Band The 7th grade band is a performing group of the instrumental music program. During the year, the band concentrates on concert band music. The music played will vary during the year. Many numbers from various periods will be played by the band. Students will continue the fundamentals of musicianship in order to develop more advanced instrumentals. During the fall, the band practices marching and often appears at the high school, and college parades. If time permits, they play at high school half-time with the high school band. 6th Grade Band Band is designed for the beginning band instrument students. In class you will get started on an instrument and the basic knowledge of music. The band performs twice during the year. Approximately one-third of the students in class have and instrument available in the family while the rest of the students rent or purchase an instrument from a music company.
