State Choir
State Choir Competitors!

CONGRATULATIONS KHS Vocal and Band students on the 1 Ratings for your solos and ensembles at State Music Contest!

KHS CHOIRS ROCK!
On Friday, 22 choir students participated in state vocal music contest. The following students received I's on their vocal solos: Tyler Reed, Caitlin Pennington, Emily Pollard, Shannon Shaffer, Brooke Novinger, Abby Lang and Bethany Fountain. Grant McFarland, Nathaniel Kennard, Andrew Mikolajczak, Brady Bowling, Elizabeth Coggins, Bethany Fountain, Arabelle Reed and Jani Martin also received a I rating on their mixed double quartet.

The following students received II's on their vocal solos: Jani Martin, Brady Bowling, Bryan Morton, Tyler Gregory Higgins, Mia Capuano, Katie Fitzgerald, Sydney Lambert, Jeremy Perkins and mixed sextet with Nathaniel Kennard, Caitlin Pennington, Bryan Morton, Jeremy Perkins, Chelsie Todd and Katie Fitzgerald.

KHS BAND ROCKS TOO!
On Friday, April 25, twenty-nine Kirksville High School Band students participated in the State Solo and Ensemble Festival in Columbia. The following solos received a I rating: Tyler Hanson, timpani; Forrest Beck, French Horn; Catie Shuey, Alto Sax; Tim Middlemas, Alto Sax; Katie Fitzgerald, clarinet; Austin Motley, trombone; Ashley Lyon, timpani and Anne Laurent, clarinet. The following ensembles received a I rating: Clarinet Trio- Brianna Broach, Katie Fitzgerald, Anne Laurent; Saxophone Trio- Catie Shuey, Aaron Krusinak, Tim Middlemas.

The following solos received a II rating at State Contest: Geordan Beck, flute; Elizabeth Howard, flute; Ethan Murphy, tuba; Rachel Jones, French horn; and Naseem Hamidi, flute. The following ensembles received a II rating: French Horn Trio- Forrest Beck, Lance Logan, Josh Jewell; Saxophone Quartet- Nathaniel Kennard, Catie Shuey, Eric Valkenaar, Tim Middlemas; Mixed Woodwind Trio- Madelin Collop, Terry McGarvey, Katie Fitzgerald; Saxophone Quartet- Jacob Lyons, Aaron Krusinak, Allie Ridgeway, CJ Slaughter.

Congratulations to KHS Special Olympics Athlete, Sam Northcutt! He is officially Mr. SOMO Basketball for the state of Missouri. He will be recognized at the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Banquet later this month.
