Practical Nursing is a 12-month program for adults interested in working as a practical nurse.  Successful completion of the course enables the graduate to apply to the Missouri State Board of Nursing for permission to take the licensing examination for practical nurses.  A graduate must pass the examination to be licensed as an LPN.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, must be a graduate of an accredited high school or successfully completed the Graduate Equivalency examination.  Pre-admission tests are administered by the Technical Center.  Applicants are selected by the Admission Committee based on test performance and references.  All applicants must meet the admission criteria including a background check.

It is the policy of Kirksville Area Technical Center not to discriminate on the basis of race, age, creed, sex or national origin in its educational programs, activities, admission practices, and employment policies as required by Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972.  We are an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Organization.
