District Honor Band

On Saturday, November 14th, 27 KHS band students auditioned in Moberly, Missouri for the Northeast Missouri District Band and District Jazz Band. Seven students received a place in the All-District Honorable Mention Band:

• Kelly Keener, Clarinet
• Matthew Williams, Clarinet
• Becky Laird, Alto Saxophone
• Chris Shinn, Alto Saxophone
• Ben Darling, Trumpet
• Scott Kriegshauser, Euphonium

Two students made it into the All-District Honor Band:

• Forrest Beck, French Horn
• Austin Motley, Trombone

The students selected for these two bands will meet again in Moberly in January for a rehearsal and evening concert. Beck and Motley are eligible to audition for All-State Band on Saturday, December 5 in Columbia, MO. If chosen as a member of the All-State Band, the student will attend the Missouri Music Educators Conference at Tan-Tar-A Resort in late January.
