Kirksville R-III Hires New Superintendent
The Kirksville R-III Board of Education is proud to announce the hiring of Robert A. Webb of Alamosa, Colorado as the Superintendent of the Kirksville R-III School District effective July 1, 2019.
Mr. Webb currently serves as the Superintendent of the Monte Vista School District in Alamosa and brings a wealth of experience to the Kirksville District. Prior to his role as Superintendent for the past seven years, he served as a Principal at the elementary, middle school and high school levels, as well as, teacher, coach and instructor at a Community College. He has been an educational presenter on state and national levels and currently serves on the Board of Directors Colorado Association of Senior School Administrators. Mr. Webb will complete his Doctoral Degree in December of 2019. Mr. Webb began his educational career in the Bunceton, MO school district, and is looking forward to returning to Missouri to be closer to family and friends. He and his wife will be coming to meet with staff and community members within the next few weeks.
The hiring of Mr. Webb follows a search by the district that included input from the community, administrators and staff. The initial step of the process was a community survey followed by face to face meetings facilitated by Dr. Bob Watkins, a consultant with Missouri School Board Association. Utilizing the results of the survey, input from stakeholders and current district goals, the Board went to work to identify priorities. All seven members of the board reviewed applications, supporting documentation, and conducted extensive interviews and reference checks during the hiring process. The Board feels very fortunate to have had a pool of strong and qualified candidates. They successfully completed the selection process on Monday evening, April 1, 2019.
Mr. Webb brings very solid credentials in academics, finance, communication and leadership. The Board was most impressed with his transparency and passion for students in their educational pursuits. We are confident that his success in creating student achievement and his drive to implement and follow-through with programs will help students succeed and energize our great district.
