PROGRAM WITHDRAWAL PROCESS

Students withdrawing from a program must complete a withdrawal form with the Program Administrator (PN Students) or KATC Director (other Adult Program Students). All students must also meet with the Financial Aid Coordinator to complete the withdrawal process. If the student received a direct loan, the student must complete online Exit Counseling at www.studentloans.gov. Students who owe a balance when they withdraw must pay that balance immediately or make arrangements. All arrangements must be approved by the KATC Director.

PROGRAM DISMISSAL/TERMINATION

Students being dismissed from a program must complete the dismissal form with the Program Administrator (PN Students) or KATC Director (other Adult Program Students). All students must also meet with the Financial Aid Coordinator to complete the dismissal/termination process. PROGRAM READMISSION

Withdrawal or Dismissal/Termination (ALL Students)

Students who withdrew from the program or were dismissed/terminated (due to lack of attendance or for academic reasons) may reapply to that program. A written request should be submitted to the KATC Director at least one semester before the semester/term begins. The student must return to the program at a point determined by the KATC Director, Financial Aid Coordinator and the program instructor. Students must make financial arrangements with the Financial Aid Coordinator prior to their return. Those who have a balance owed on their account must pay in full prior to returning. Prorated tuition will be due for the returning year.

Leave of Absence (Practical Nursing Students ONLY)

If a Practical Nursing student is returning after a Leave of Absence, they must return the following year at a point determined appropriate by the PN Administrator and Director. The student must be in good financial standing at KATC before they return. Full tuition is due for the incomplete year and a prorated tuition will be due for the returning year. The student must make financial arrangements with the Financial Aid Coordinator prior to their return. Please see Practical Nursing Handbook for the Leave of Absence Policy.

Leave of Absence (All Adult Program Students EXCEPT Practical Nursing)

If an adult student is returning after a Leave of Absence, they must return to school within 180 days, or at a point in the program as determined appropriate by the instructor and Director. The student must be in good financial standing at KATC before they return. Full tuition is due for the incomplete year and a prorated tuition will be due for the returning year. The student must make financial arrangements with the Financial Aid Coordinator prior to their return. Please see the Adult Program Handbook for the Leave of Absence Policy.
