Recipients of the "Golden Shelf Elf Award" are announced over the loudspeaker on Friday afternoon and get to keep the shelf elf in their classroom for the following week. The class at each grade level that earns the "Golden Shelf Elf Award" the most times over the course of the school year will have an ice cream party at the end of the school year.
