We all know that driving a school bus is a tough job. We also know that we need more drivers in our district, surrounding districts, state, and country. However, do we take enough time to thank the hardworking drivers and monitors that we do have? Parents, students, teachers, staff, and community members...we need your help! We want to hear the positive stories and thankful comments. Please take a few moments to anonymously complete the form at this link: https://forms.gle/A36eSyyshmKCgGp76 Share this post, tag others, and fill out the form with positives; but kindly keep the negative comments off of this post as we celebrate our bus staff. Have a great weekend, Tigers! #welovekirksville #kvproud #kvtigers

Bus evacuation drills for the semester will be completed on school grounds Tuesday, October 31, 2023. During on campus, morning drop-offs, all bus riders will learn safe evacuation procedures from their drivers, then practice exiting the bus quickly, quietly, and safely. Various teachers and staff will be on hand to assist drivers and monitor students during the process. Bus evacuation drills are required by the State of Missouri to ensure that students are aware of what to do in an emergency situation.

October is National Principals Month and we are taking time to appreciate all of our building principals and assistant principals here at Kirksville R-III. Today we spotlight Mrs. Nicole Marshall at RME! Mrs. Marshall would like to assert her fifth amendment right when asked if she was ever sent to the principal's office as a student. We respect that. It keeps us guessing! There is no question that Mrs. Marshall is at home at RME and loving her new role there as principal. Thank you Mrs. Marshall for everything you do as an educational leader for our students, staff, and community! #kvproud #kvtigers #welovekirksville

October is National Principals Month and we are taking time to appreciate all of our building principals and assistant principals here at Kirksville R-III. Today we spotlight Mrs. Amee Jones at RME! We asked her if she ever had to go to the principal's office as a student herself. Mrs. Jones replied, "Only one time, and it definitely wasn't my fault!" That sounds like a really good hook for a writing piece that your RME students would love to hear, or even help you write, Mrs. Jones! Thank you for everything you do as an educational leader for our students, staff, and community! #kvproud #kvtigers #welovekirksville

Help still being sought! The lack of enough bus drivers is still heavily impacting our partner company EccoRide's ability to deliver timely transportation for our students. This graphic outlines the process of becoming a paid driver.

On behalf of EccoRide and the District we apologize for the afternoon bus delays . We greatly appreciate your patience through this first day transition. A major part of the delays were caused by the safety checks being held at each stop. With new drivers being unfamiliar with the students, they are stopping at each location for a safety check to verify each student is the correct one to be let off at that location. Again your patience is much appreciated. We are confident it will get much better especially as additional drivers are being added.
