Bus evacuation drills for the semester will be completed on school grounds Tuesday, October 31, 2023. During on campus, morning drop-offs, all bus riders will learn safe evacuation procedures from their drivers, then practice exiting the bus quickly, quietly, and safely. Various teachers and staff will be on hand to assist drivers and monitor students during the process.
Bus evacuation drills are required by the State of Missouri to ensure that students are aware of what to do in an emergency situation.

October is National Principals Month and we are taking time to appreciate all of our building principals and assistant principals here at Kirksville R-III. Today we spotlight Mrs. Rebecca Cross at WMMS!
Mrs. Cross is in her first year in our district and we are happy to have her here in the R-3. She says that as a student she did have to go to the principal's office once. We are here for the details on that! Her official statement went like this, "Well, one time I was sent to the office, but it was not really my fault. It was a playground game gone wrong. The end." We think we have all had similar experiences.
Thank you, Mrs. Cross, for everything you do as an educational leader for our students, staff, and community! Also, welcome to Kirksville! #kvproud #kvtigers #welovekirksville

This "Roar of Applause" goes to Danielle Garrett! She is a sixth grade social studies teacher at WMMS. Thank you Mrs. Garrett for helping all of your students find success! Join us in congratulating Danielle for this "Roar of Applause." 🎉🐅 #kvtigers #kvproud #welovekirksville

Students in Mrs. Garrett's 6th grade reading class learned about story and plot elements. They ended the unit by having a "campout" including a fake glowing fire and camping noises with a dark forest picture on the SmartBoard. Students enjoyed juice and s'mores bars in the dimly lit classroom while sections from Scary Stories To Read In The Dark were read aloud.

Join us for Parent Teacher Conferences this Wednesday and Thursday!

This "Roar of Applause" goes to Alexis Riley! She is a sixth grade ELA teacher at WMMS. Thank you Mrs. Riley for leading, not only your students, but also your department of teachers! Join us in congratulating Alexis for this "Roar of Applause" 🎉🐅 #kvtigers #kvproud #welovekirksville

October is National Principals Month and we are taking time to appreciate all of our building principals and assistant principals here at Kirksville R-III. Today we spotlight Dr. Brandi VanDelft at WMMS!
When asked if she ever had to go to the principal's office while she was a student, Dr. VanDelft said this, "I was caught in the middle of passing a letter from a friend to another friend during class. We didn't have cell phones back then so letters folded the "cool" way was the best option. Each of us had to write an essay about the Nile River before being allowed to attend the fall dance. It was an excellent essay and we danced to some of the best songs from 2000. I learned not to pass notes again!"
It sounds like her version of the Roman Empire trend on TikTok is probably the Nile. Do you ever think about the Nile River, Dr. VanDelft? Thank you for everything you do as an educational leader for our students, staff, and community! #kvproud #kvtigers #welovekirksville
