Today is May Day and School Principals Day. We are grateful for the principals we have in our district every day. It is not an easy job, thank you to these six for all they do.

We want to take a minute to thank some very important people in our district. Occupational therapists and physical therapists provide much needed services for our students--improving their abilities to move and to perform the activities of their daily lives at school. Thank you to our occupational and physical therapists! Stacie Hudson-OT, Kristyn Thomas-OT, Sandra Totten-OT Assistant, Jeff Silvernail-OT and his sidekick Rally, Krista Snow-OT, and Lee Vorkink-PT.

For two Mondays this month, WMMS sent 26 students to our District Honor Choirs - one for 6th Grade and one for 7th/8th Grade. These students have been practicing weekly with Choraliers before school in order to learn the music. They then attended a full day of rehearsal with other singers across our district, followed by the evening concert! Great job singers and sponsors Mr. Kennard, Mrs. Murphy and Mrs. Bolle!

Important dates for the end of the school year! Note, May 23rd is the last day of school and it is a full day. There are only 19 days left, if you are counting!

Anyone like ESPN8, Ocho? If so, we think we have something you may enjoy happening at the middle school. Mrs. Stephens's and Mrs. Chapman's math classes have been excitedly competing in the 2024 MAP Olympics!
Each day begins with individual training on all of this year's math concepts followed by energetic team competitions such as track and field board races, balance and solve on the "balance beam," and inequalities on the "uneven bars." Competition continues through the end of the month. It's a close race for the most gold medals...stay tuned for winners, and we will let you know if ESPN picks this up!

Come out tomorrow and check out KATC's new Construction Trades classroom! Stop by anytime 9am-2pm.
This event is open to the entire community. Come support Mr. Vince McQueen and his students completing this major project!
