The spirit of giving is alive and well in Kirksville this Christmas! HUGE shoutout to the Kirksville Professional Fire Fighters Local 2952 for their generous donation of $1000 toward unpaid student meal accounts! Some of their members are pictured here presenting a gigantic check to KPS Principal Diana Johnson, Assistant Superintendent Tricia Reger, and Food Services Director Lynnette Gannon. Thank you firefighters, this could not have come at a better time! Our district is currently facing $38,000 in unpaid student meal accounts. We encourage any and all families who could use the help to apply for the Federal Free and Reduced Price School Meals Program to see if they qualify. However, this program does not pay off accumulated unpaid accounts prior to qualifying. So thanks again, Local 2952! If you would like to help with student lunch debt, please help spread the word about applying for the free and reduced meals program. Families can apply at this link: https://www.myschoolapps.com or by stopping by the Board of Education Office at 1901 East Hamilton. We have paper applications available at the office, and in multiple languages. The office is open on business days between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
